1. Remove the 2 screws on top of the rear panel power supply cover. DO NOT REMOVE the screws marked "TRANSFORMER MOUNTING ONLY". 2. Remove the 3 screws on the bottom of the rear panel power supply cover. 3. Remove the 4 screws (2 each side) at the side of the rear panel power supply cover. 4. Remove the BNC reatining nuts from the rear panel outputs where fitted. 5. Slide the rear panel power supply cover away from the casting. 6. Disconnect the cables from A14J1 and J2 as applicable. 7. Now remove the rear panel power supply cover completely. 8. Pop out the blanking plugs in the locations marked "HIGH STABILITY TIMEBASE OUTPUT", "FINE ADJ" and "COURSE ADJ." 9. Locate the BNC/SMA cable from the retrofit kit. Position in the location marked "HIGH STABILITY TIMEBASE OUTPUT" and fit retaining nut and locking washer. 10. Position the time base unit within the power supply cover such that the COURSE and FINE frequency adjustment screws are aligned with the correct rear panel labels. Fix the unit in place using the 4 screws supplied with the kit noting that there are countersunk loactions for the appropriate screws. 11. Now fit the SMA(f) plug at the cable end to the SMA(m) socket on the time base unit and tighten. 12. Bring the rear panel power supply cover into line with the rear panel casting in preparation for refitting. 13. Push home the cable connectors into locations A14J1 and J2. The cable to J1 can sometimes appear tight and may need folded over at the connector end before pushing home. 14. Make sure there is no danger of cables becoming trapped then push the power supply cover fully home. 15. Fix the retaining nuts to the rear panel BNC ports as applicable. 16. Refit all screws in reverse order. 17. Fit the BNC cable, HP p/n 10502A between the "HIGH STABILITY TIME BASE OUTPUT" and the "TIME BASE INPUT". That completes the installation.
